Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance Inc. entered the S&P 500. The beauty retailer replaced Tenet Healthcare Corp., which in turn was swapped for Jarden Corp. in the S&P MidCap 400. Ulta Salon will be added to the S&P 500 Specialty Stores Sub-Industry index. According to NASDAQ, through mid-June, Ulta Salon Cosmetics & Fragrance’s stock price registered a 26.8% gain. With a portfolio of 500 leading companies that has approximately 80% coverage of the available market capitalization, the S&P 500 is a highly regarded benchmark.
